CORON 2018: A REAL PARADISE TO KEEP (3rd part)

Saving the Best for Last

May 19-23, 2018

We are now on our third day in Coron Island, most awaited part of the tour. None other than Coron Ultimate Tour. First plan was to avail Coron Tour A only which comprises 5-4 destinations but upon suggestions from fellow traveler it is worth every penny to go after Ultimate tour even you are not a swimmer. And so, we try to contact again Laughtrip Travel and Tours if we can avail the said package tour and of course they gave it to us with a discount.
Coron Ultimate tour comprises of 7 destinations and the first one to go was the CYC Beach or Coron Youth Club Beach. It is a Public beach intended for locals so whenever they want to celebrate or just hang out they can go to for free. There's no need to stay longer in this island because when the sun is up, sure thing you'll get burn for there's no available trees to shed on. But the water here was clear and warm, perfect for a start up on a tour.

So for our next destination, we need to brace ourselves because it is a snorkeling area that you can't enjoy the place if you don't dip in the water. It is the Coral Garden, that's out of nowhere our guide told us to get down, put our vest and snorkeling gear. No need to fear for your life if you are a non swimmer because the guides will help you or teach you how to snorkel and just float in the middle of the sea. The beauty beneath water was incomparable, from different corals to colorful fishes that you may see. I am really thankful to our guide who patiently taught us how to enjoy what's beneath us even we are a group of non swimmers. Another Battle of snorkeling to our next destination; one of the most sought after site in Coron. The shipwreck; it is never a secret that Coron has a lot of shipwrecks to go with but this one is the most friendly site for non-swimmers like us. we don't need to dive deeper just to take a glimpse of the shipwreck. We just have to snorkel and let our eyes filled with amazing view of how the corals and fishes take over the japanese ship. And oh, our guide must be really entertaining for He plays with the deep water while we were exploring the area.

So much for snorkeling, we found ourselves tired after dealing with the current only to find out that our next destination needs more strength to swim. It is now time for twin Lagoon, for this one we have to swim from a kilometer away to get to the other side of the Lagoon. It was also a reminiscent of what we have done in El Nido before. Our Guide told us to form like a chain so when He swims towards the opening of the other side of the Lagoon he will just pull us with Him. This Lagoon has 2 way entrance; 1st requires you to swim from a small hole beneath waters; 2nd to just climb the make shift ladder to get the opposite side. Locals were strict with visitors for they do not allow to enter the small hole when its high tide, everyone must use the ladder. Just follow them anyway! they know what they're doing. Upon entering the opposite I can say that it was really stunning, what we saw from the pictures was exactly the same with we what have seen from our naked eyes. The Clear Emerald water with the towering karst limestone that protects the area. everything was beautiful but the way to get back made us feel tired and didn't want to swim inside the lagoon.

After a tiring acitvity, it is now the best time to have lunch. We boarded the boat and head to Atwayan beach. There are make shift Kubo in the area that's intended for dining of every visitors. Upon docking of our boat it feels like we rented the area to ourselves. Yes, no one was there to have lunch but only our group. Imagine yourself having a lunch in a clear, warm beach water with limestone that covers you and gentle breeze that soothes your body. That's what we exactly felt in this area, so nothing else to do but have a god lunch and take a little swim afterwards.
Fat Burning activity comes after having a good lunch. It's kayangan Lake this time. Heading to a beautiful tower cliffs lies a well known cleanest lake in Asia, it was a good decision to visit this on a weekday since crowd might be disappointing during weekends. we started to climb the stairs going to the view deck and that was the most exhausting part of the trip; just imagine, after eating too much on lunch time there comes 300+ steps going up to the view deck?! what the heck! that's what our reactions turned out, not until we reached the peak. "Wow!, just WOw!" everything that we just saw from ads and blogs now in front of our naked eyes. It was all breathtaking, but we have to rush on obligatory picture on the view deck since other batch of visitors will come and take pictures too and it was just a big rock where every pictures happen. Right after posing a good shot we have to continue walking to the lake but this time it's going down. for 200+ steps going down, visitors will be able to see and swim with the famous lake. Upon seeing the lake, nothing comes from my mind but to take a dip on this gorgeous sight in front of me with a bonus that it is not crowded so we can take photos without photobombers LOL! Swimming without life vest also prohibited in this Lake, they only want safety for everyone.

Going back to the boat was another different story.; if you think going there was hard then wait until you get back, you will get sweat all over your body even you just got up from swimming. Almost done? not yet, Last destination would be Siete Pescados. It is a reserved sanctuary observed by the National Government under Department of Agriculture. There is no resting place in here coz you have to dip and snorkel for you to see how colorful this place has been. for divers, this must be a paradise for you will enjoy abundant life under water. from corals to fishes and to sea urchins.

We didn't go too far since we're already exhausted from previous activity but nevertheless this one has been a great conclusion for our day trip. going back to the town won't take much long for Coron Ultimate tour destinations were just minutes away from the mainland. Looks like we will be needing big servings for dinner? And we just did. After changing clothes we looked for something that will reward our hungry stomach. I just forgot the name of the restaurant but the place was good since it was a view deck and the food was generous with taste and servings. Our Coron experience almost complete and done and so, we call it a day.
